ChatGPT, the popular AI chatbot from OpenAI, experienced a global outage, leaving many users unable to access the service. Reports flooded in, highlighting widespread issues affecting various aspects of the platform.
According to Downdetector, a website that tracks outages, a significant number of users reported problems. Approximately 91% of those affected encountered issues while attempting to access ChatGPT. Around 7% reported inability to access the website, while the remaining faced login failures. Users also took to social media platform X to report about the service disruption.
OpenAI acknowledged the outage on its official status page, citing “increased latency and errors affecting both ChatGPT and APIs.” The company promptly addressed the issue, and the service has since been restored.
