Varma’s late flourish earned him the “Impact Player of the Match” award in the Indian dressing room. Reflecting on his role, he said, “I was thinking to finish the game in the last two games as well, but couldn’t. Today, my turn has come. I’ll keep trying till the end of the tournament, and like gauti sir (Gautam Gambhir) said, till the World Cup, we’ll keep learning and keep moving forward.”The batter was handed the award by training assistant Raghavindraa D, a training specialist with the side.
